E-Pulsive : Electrical Muscle Stimulation

 Today I tried the popular E-Pulsive personal training method which has created a big hype in the fitness industry recently and I have to say I was pretty impressed ! It was much harder than I thought ! After the personal trainer strapped me into an electronic vest I started with the 10 minute weight loss program which involved a series of cardio exercises which combined with the electrical stimulus caused my metabolic and enzyme activity to increase. The sensation was tingly, painful and pretty hard ! We then moved onto the toning program for another 10 m where I had to do a series of exercises like crunches and squats.. once again the contraction in my muscles made it very strenuous ! All in all I think EMS is a speedy and effective method to achieve weight loss and body toning and I will definitely try to integrate this in my weekly fitness routine. EMS training is a full body workout using impulse current. EMS stands for electrical muscle stimulation. During traditional exercise, the brain sends signals to the muscles to bring about contractions. Meanwhile in EMS training the electrical impulse causes a contraction in your muscles, and in combination with exercise, this makes the workout much more effective than conventional workouts.

EMS training involves wearing an electronic exercise vest which delivers impulses through electrodes onto the skin; to the upper and lower back, lats, abdominals and chest muscles as well as legs, glutes and arms, mimicking the actions of the central nervous system.
